Business Education Collaborative Committee
Mission: To enhance the well being of the community by contributing to the growth of our students through a partnership of business, education, and community members.
The Business Education Collaborative received recognition as one of the outstanding community partnerships with Granite State schools, at the NHPIE Gold Circle Achievement Award ceremony earlier this year. This award continues to evidence the rich history of this committee. The 'Biz Ed' has recently completed the 2006 Interview Contest. In this annual event, Students from Pelham High School and from Salem High School engaged in a mock interview with local business leaders. Students are scored on poise and presentation. The higher scoring students advance through three rounds of interviews, each round presenting increasingly challenging questions and format. The best of the candidates are recognized at a dinner ceremony hosted by the Salem Chamber of Commerce. Earlier this year, the Business Education Collaborative hosted an Applied Academics breakfast program that introduced students to the world of finance, and the Collaborative also participated in the Salem High Sophomore Career Exploration Day. All of these activities are designed to help prepare our next generation of business leaders. Many thanks to the businesses that supported our efforts with volunteered time and gifts. And special thanks to our school to community liaisons at Pelham High, Louise Paulauskas and at Salem High School, Linda Michalczyk.
