A Word From the Chairman...
How quickly time passes.
As this newsletter is mailed to your offices and businesses there will be only about a month left in summer before the kids go back to school.
Also, it means that there will only be a month or so left in my year as Chairman.
What an exciting year it has been for the chamber in so many aspects.
The growth of membership was extraordinary throughout this past year. The goal of the chamber to position itself with a solid financial foundation was important to achieve for long term viability and allows us to continue to bring value to our members. Attendance and participation was up at most events and people are not only showing up, but are very active in passing out business cards and networking.
There were many new events created to bring value to all of our members and our customized approach to meeting our members’ needs makes the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce a must in a company’s marketing plan.
I am sure I will get another opportunity to share our accomplishments in another newsletter or at the annual dinner so I would like to take a quick moment to thank some important people that allowed me to hold the responsibility of Chairman while I tried to balance this responsibility with running my insurance agency over the past 12 months.
Muriel, Stacey, George and Donna – I will formally thank you all later, but what appears from the outside world as a job well done takes a lot of hard work and planning behind the scenes and attention to detail.
I am grateful and appreciative to have worked with such a passionate and committed group who truly put the members first.
As a member of the Chamber, when you see these people and the members of the Board of Directors, please extend your hand and thank them for working so hard to make YOUR Chamber of Commerce a truly special organization.
